Route Map for the Bhopal Public Bus System

The Bhopal public bus network was set up in phases as the city grew, so while it offered connectivity, the routes were confusing and overwhelming. When Chalo took on the management of the bus network, one of the challenges was to increase ridership.

Reimagining the bus routes in a more user-friendly manner was a key first step to convincing commuters to give the new bus system a chance.

The approach was to reimagine the network along a straight line to make it easier to understand. We sought inspiration from transit systems across the globe - New York, London, Berlin, Tokyo and Paris - to create the first organised bus route map in India.
